I am an artist and a biologist looking for opportunities to explore either field, but most of all, to integrate the two. I am a creative thinker and use my interdisciplinary background to bring innovative perspectives to both art and science. I have conducted marine ecology field work in the Galapagos Islands, using underwater research techniques and tagging to monitor fish populations in coastal areas. I also have worked on herpetological research in New Mexico, and on independent projects on heart innervation and aging using the zebrafish and giant danio as model organisms. As an Artist my work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, and I have collaborated with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science on a paleontological illustration project.  

My artwork draws inspiration from the organisms and ecosystems I encounter while in the field. It centers on themes of biodiversity, memory, and metamorphosis. My aim is to use art to connect wider audiences to biological and conservation research. By sharing my own relationship with science and nature, I seek to inspire curiosity and empathy in others for the ecosystems around us.
